IMPETUS

About Impetus

I established Impetus Business Development 19 years ago in response to an increasing demand in the market to improve business performance through the qualities of the people the business employs.
The name Impetus was adopted because of what it means. A dictionary definition of Impetus uses the words “stimulus, energy and motivation”.  Essentially this is what I offer.
I specialise in providing tailored training, facilitation and coaching solutions. My approach is strongly consultative to ensure I comprehend the “big picture” context together with the detail of the requirement. After this I will design/customise and develop possible solutions for consideration before delivering and reviewing the chosen solution.

In response to client demand, I personally deliver the services offered. I have a diverse background in management consultancy and general management, which is blended to deliver practical and proven approaches.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and worked with the international management consultancy, Deloitte, for 12 years, both in New Zealand and offshore. I also gained general management experience whilst in the UK and has worked with numerous cultures across the Pacific, South East and Central Asia, and the Middle East.

Typically those that have utilised my services would say that my style is focused, engaging and encouraging. This is combined with a special ability to quickly adapt to different business environments and challenge current behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.

My wife Rosi & I are based in Auckland and have three children.  I particularly enjoy the outdoors and I am a keen tramper, fisherman and photographer.
